Turkish Police released new video Tuesday of missing New York City woman, Sarai Sierra. On her first trip outside the United States, Sarai, 33, left for a solo trip to Turkey. Sarai, who is an avid photographer, stayed in touch with relatives including her husband and brother who have since traveled overseas to meet with Turkish officials.
Turkish officials said this week, they have a special unit set up to find the missing mom. In addition, according to reports, Sarai may have exchanged messages with someone overseas prior to her disappearance. We do not know if this person is a man or woman.
Sarai is a mother of two children who was supposed to arrive on a United Airlines flight at Newark Airport in New Jersey on Jan. 22. Reports indicate the airline told Sarai’s husband, Steven, his wife never made it on the flight. The video shows Sarai eating by herself in the food court near a hostel where she was staying. She was seen wearing a brown leather jacket, jeans and winter hat. In another piece of video, Sarai was seen wearing earphones and walking along a main shopping area.
The FBI is assisting the U.S. Embassy in Turkey and the Turkish National Police. Sarai’s family is now heading over to Turkey to search for answers and to hopefully find their loved one.
